An Action-RPG game released by Square during the PSX's 'RPG Boom', yet overshadowed by Chrono Cross.

Taking a few pages from the Mana Series, Threads of Fate is an Action-RPG that shows the stories of it's two protagonists, Rue and Mint, as they search for an ancient Relic known as the Dewprism, said to grant the user limitless power.

Rue is an amnesia-laden, quiet young man, determined, serious, and kind, who searches for the Dewprism to resurrect his murdered adopted sister, Claire. Wielding both his Arc Edge (an axe-like weapon) and his mysterious ability to transform into any monsters he's killed, he fights against the enemy known as Doll Master.

Mint is an aggressive, adventurous young princess who's own sister takes the throne, as well as receiving the kingdom's Relic, the Book of Cosmos. Setting off to find the Dewprism, Mint decides she'd rather rule the WORLD. Her abilities lie in a combination of powerful elemental magic and her own deadly drop-kick.

The game takes place in a world of wonderfully colorful characters, on the island of Corona. The game is not unlike the Mana or Megaman Legends series in both gameplay and storytelling ability. Definitely worth a play for any Square or RPG fan.
